Omar al Farouq, a top al Qaeda leader who escaped from Iraq's Bagram Air Base last year, has been killed by British troops in Iraq, according to the British military spokesman there.Well, I doubt we'll be hearing any more from him now, unless al Qaeda releases tapes posthumously.
In July of last year, Farouq and three others not only escaped from the heavily guarded prison in the middle of Bagram Air Base, but the gang later made a propaganda videotape bragging about how easy their escape was.
He was killed after resisting arrest this morning in Basra.
