Does Gov. Corzine want to challenge records on how quickly someone can go from being seen as a savior to reviled? He certainly appears to be heading in that direction as he keeps saying that there will be no compromise on the sales tax increase proposal that he put forward.
Well, that's fine by me. If he wants to keep touting a sales tax increase as a way to balance the budget, I'll keep mentioning that the only way to avoid tax increases is to cut spending on his pet projects. Corzine is trying to replace one tax with another, not actually going to the root cause of why taxes need to be increased at all: higher spending which he's lavished on his union pals.
Corzine keeps talking about how he cuts spending here and there, but anyone looking at the budget would see that it is actually increased by 9% over last year. That's not a cut any way you call it.
