Or Else... What?

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has told the Hamas-led government it must immediately remove its new security forces from the streets of Gaza, a top Abbas aide said Thursday.

The unit, made up of 3,000 militants loyal to Hamas, was deployed Wednesday in defiance of Abbas who opposed the creation of the new force.

“It’s a very worrying situation,” said Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, who is close to Abbas. “(Abbas) ordered the deployment of the (regular) Palestinian forces, and ordered the other (Hamas-linked) forces to leave the streets.”
So, Hamas, which won the elections has its own military force, and Fatah, which should be giving up control over the PA and isn't, has its own military force. Just what exactly is going to force Hamas to take its own thugs off the streets?

A harshly worded statement?

It certainly looks like the deal brokered by Hamas and Fatah terrorists sitting in an Israeli jail has done little to resolve the problem of transitioning the government from Fatah to Hamas - and both sides are gearing up for a civil war, despite their protestations to the contrary.
