A Great Dining Experience

I went out to dinner tonite and finally got into a sushi place in Ridgewood, New Jersey that has received rave reviews from others. This is one of the most difficult tables to get in town, and they don't take reservations.

The name of the restaurant? Sushi Sakura Bana.

It may be a family restaurant and lacks some of the style and panache of the much larger Kumo sushi restaurant down the block, but there's a reason that Sakura Bana is always jam packed with people, even in the middle of the week.

The sushi is spectacular. It is simply the freshest sushi I've ever had (though I'll admit that I have yet to try Nobu in Manhattan). The sashimi literally melts in your mouth. The portions may not be as big as those in Kumo, but the quality outshines Kumo - which isn't a slouch in the sushi department either. Mrs. Lawhawk isn't a sushi fan, but had a filet mignon prepared in a teriyaki sauce with mushrooms that was also quite good.
