Curiosities

How is it that Bilal Hussein has been able to capture so many indelible images of the insurgency? There have been skeptics, myself included, who have thought that it was suspicious that Hussein was able to get some of the pictures that he did unless he himself was a member of the insurgency and using the AP to spread the terrorists' propaganda around the world.

According to news generated from Michelle Malkin's contacts, he's been apparently captured by US forces during a raid in Ramadi along with a cache of weapons. We'll need to wait and see what information is released about Hussein's arrest, but should this pan out, it throws into question AP's integrity and defenses of their stringer. Has the AP been knowingly used by the terrorists to spread their propaganda? Increasingly, it looks that way. It shows that the terrorists and insurgents are using our own media against us. And some within the media are looking the other way.

The Jawa Report has further thoughts on the matter.

UPDATE:
Six Meat Buffet notes that the AP has lost a staffer. Blackfive, Captain Ed, and Instapundit also comment.
