Let The Games Begin

Not the Olympic Games mind you, but the political games associated with the Able Danger hearings. The public hearings have now been scheduled for February 15, 2006 at 2:30PM in the Rayburn building. Hopefully, it will shed more light on what the US was doing before 9/11 to keep this nation safe - and what impeded those intelligence gathering efforts. And in the process assist in making sure that we've learned from our mistakes and are better prepared against future attacks.

"After intense staff negotiations, it was finally decided that a portion of the Armed Services Committee hearing will be open, but that subsequent discussion of classified aspects of the Able Danger program will move into a closed session."
That is as it should be, but one has to wonder just how much information will be divulged in open session that we haven't already learned.

MacRanger, Able Danger Blog, and AJ Strata (who thinks we may see a new Gorelick wall being instituted) have much more.
