McHales, a burger and beer joint in the heart of the Broadway theater district has met its end. It was done in by the success of turning around the Times Square district and a condominium complex will be built on its location.
It's a shame. I ate in there once and I left there wondering why I didn't go there more often. The burgers were huge and tasty, and the crowd was a fun bunch. But like many of the other old time bar and burger joints, they're getting elbowed out by newer businesses and housing.
A sign of success for some, an end of an era for others.
