Close, But Only A Pack of Cigarettes - No Cigar

After all the bluster from the Left and certain elements in Pakistan about the raid on a terrorist stronghold, the Pakistani government has said that four or five of those killed were, in fact, terrorists.
At least four foreign terrorists died in the purported U.S. airstrike aimed at al-Qaida's No. 2 leader in a Pakistani border village, the provincial government said Tuesday.

A statement, issued by the administration of Pakistan's semiautonomous tribal regions bordering Afghanistan, also said that between 10 and 12 foreign extremists had been invited to the dinner at the village hit in Friday's attack.

It was the first official confirmation by Pakistani authorities that foreign militants were killed in the attack on the village of Damadola. Women and children also died, triggering outrage in this Islamic nation.
The raid just wasn't nearly as successful as it could have been. Zawahiri was supposed to be at the compound, but didn't show for some reason.

Also, no word or outrage from those condemning the raid and showing outrage on any of the hundreds of terrorist attacks that have killed civilians, including men, women, and children on a regular basis throughout the world, let alone in Pakistan, Afghanistan or the lawless border regions. Curious.

UPDATE:
The Jawa Report has more details and comments, including the following:
Tell me this: why are civilians considered innocent when they have high-ranking members of al Qaeda over for dinner? Is it just me, or doesn't that make them guilty under the Bush doctrine of treating terrorists and those that support them the same? It's not just the Bush doctrine, though, it's common sense. In order for terrorists to survive they must have supporters. that enable them. The only innocents killed by the U.S. aristrike are the children who were forced to wash up for dinner so they could have the honor of eating dinner with members of al Qaeda. I hope their parents rot in hell.

Further, why is it that only the foreigners killed in the attack are deemed terrorists by the Pakistanis? Oh, because, by definition, there are no Pakistani terrorists. You notice how that works?
Yes, I've noticed. Many Pakistanis are playing a dangerous game, and think that using different nomenclature for the same person is going to mask and hide the true intentions of said individuals. And the media buys this stuff without even the slightest bit of critical examination.
