Saddam's Trial Resumes

Saddam Hussein's trial resumed and the noticable difference was that Saddam was not only meek, but deferential to the court. He actually said Your Honor whereas only a few weeks ago he refused to acknowledge the legitimacy of the court.

You think that the successful elections had anything to do with that?

Or the fact that Saddam now thinks that torturers should be punished? Of course, he's still going to say that he had nothing to do with the widespread torture under his iron fist, but it's still curious that he's making these statements.
