CBS Starting New Blog

Will anyone be able to tell the difference between CBS's blog and the pablum peddled by Daily Kos, Moveon.org, or any of the favorites of the Left?
"Public Eye," a new blog that will create a candid and robust dialogue between CBS News journalists and the public -- a move unprecedented among CBS' peers in broadcast and cable television journalism -- will debut on CBSNews.com on Monday, Sept. 12. "Public Eye" will be edited by veteran reporter and media writer Vaughn Ververs, most recently editor of The Hotline, a daily Web briefing on politics published by the National Journal.

Ververs will serve as the conduit between the public and CBS News to take viewers and users inside the news gathering, production and decision-making process via the use of original video and outtakes, interviews with correspondents and producers, and input from independent experts, among other methods.

"Public Eye" gives CBS News the opportunity to be more open and accessible about why and how it makes the decisions that affect what millions of people are able to see, hear and read each day.
Is that like the New York Times' Public Editor who cannot edit those pesky editorialists who make stuff up as they go along? Seems to me that they sort of recognize that there's something known as the Internet, that they should do something about it, but the Newsies know best about what to do. I suspect that the whole part of getting input from readers will fall by the wayside as story after story gets picked to shreds for media bias and factual inaccuracies. It's either that or no one bothers to check the site out because people have already moved on to other sources for news besides CBS.
