Do you really think that Pat Robertson would get away without being commented upon? He called for the US to assassinate Venezuelan heavy Hugo Chavez. That's right. The head of the 700 Club and a religious leader wanted the US to whack Chavez.
Robertson's elevator stopped a few floors short of the top floor on that one. Even if you buy his argument that Chavez ought to be taken out, don't you think that a religious leader shouldn't be the one making that argument. It's the kind of thing you expect to hear from oh, a military guy or a thinktank guy, not the head of a major church group.
Of course, Robertson is no stranger to controversy from outrageous statements, and this will do little to slow him down. He's got quite the following.
