You've Got To Be Kidding Me...

Elton John seems to think that Eminem (that would be Marshall Mathers for those in the know) is on par with Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger.

You've.Got.To.Be.Kidding.Me.

Just what exactly is John swilling these days? Is there any single piece of music that John can point to that shows Jimi's viruosity with a guitar or Jagger's way with lyrics? Is Emimem a good rapper? Absolutely, if you like that stuff. His lyrics are funny, snide, angry, and occasionally very upsetting and violent.

But to utter his name in the same breath as the man who redefined the Star Spangled Banner and delivered to the world Purple Haze and All Along the Watchtower, that is blasphemy.

Of course, this comes from Rolling Stone and their collection of 50 Immortals. They keep using that word. I do not think it means what they think it means.

Perhaps when he's around a bit longer has has produced more than a handful of number one hits, we can talk.
