Historic Iraqi Elections Are Quite the Success!

Instapundit has quite the roundup. Voter turnout is 72%, which is higher than turnout in the US presidential election by 1/6. Yet, CBS reporters are claiming that the election is deeply flawed with irregularities and fraud.

Methinks the reporter was getting confused with the US Pacific Northwest, where Gov. Gregoire won with a fraudulent vote after three recounts.

About a dozen Iraqis gave their lives today casting their votes.

The terrorists lost bigtime today on many levels. Their threats of terror did not keep Iraqis from voting. The terrorists did not prevent the elections from being held. The terrorists did not disrupt the elections and cause anarchy.

The Iraqis won today. Not just Kurds, Shi'a or Sunni. All Iraqis.

Oh, and so did the Bush Administration despite the naysayers in the Democratic Party and the mainstream media who wanted to delay elections, thought that the US was acting imperial, and basically doubted that Iraqis could hold elections (and once they did, would complain that the elections were flawed and not indicative of the true intent of Iraqis to govern themselves).
