Foodie Review: Strip House Steak House NYC

I had the privilege of trying out the Strip House, located central to Union Square, over the weekend and all I can say is wow.

It really was that good. Check out the photos at the link provided to see for yourself. Very nicely done. I had gotten a recommendation to try the place from a coworker, and I was not disappointed. The steaks were excellent, as were the appitizers and sides. It was a group of 10 guys, so we ordered a seafood platter for an appetizer, plus a couple of salads. The platter included crab legs, lobster tails, scallops, jumbo shrimp, tuna tartare, oysters, and one or two other items. All were very fresh and well presented. The salads were healthy portions as well.

Our server suggested the rib-eye, and it was definitely worth the $42 for the serving. You were getting your money's worth. The filet was also a huge chunk of meat and all steaks were cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned.

Deserts were no disappointment either. The chocolate cake is definitely a sharing dish; could have served half the table. The coffee was good, although stay away from the espresso single shot - it is on the small side.

Throw in drinks and a couple of bottles of wine, and expect to spend about $110 per person - but you know where the money went.
